Meppayur Salafi Institute of Teacher Education was established on 2004 dedicated to the education of Teachers. Since 2004 this Institute is imparting quality education to Teacher trainees. This Institute has a glorious past with rich academic tradition and excellence. The Institute is recognized by the government of Kerala approved by the National council for Teacher Education. The course follows the general rules prescribed for the DELEd course by the NCTE and government of Kerala with respect to academic standards for admission, course of study, scheme of examination, Instructional hours, practice teaching requirements, attendance of students etc. with the rules and regulations of NCTE. It is functioning in the permanent building on a beautiful campus at Meppayur. nearely 10 kms east of Payyoli and 8km from Perambra. At present the Institute is providing Diploma level Course in Teacher Training. The Institute has excellent infrastructure and premium faculty.
The Salafiyya Association, Meppayur is a charitable organization registered under Societies Registration Act of govt. of India. It has received Minority status also from the Govt. of India. The Association is devoted to the educational, social and cultural up-liftment of all sections of people in and around the district of Kozhikode, irrespective of caste, creed or religion. Late Prof.T.Abdulla, former head of Department of Commerce and Management Studies of Farook College and late A.V.Adurahiman Haji, ex Member of Legislative Assembly of Kerala State were the founder President and General Secretary respectively of the Association. The educational institutions under the Association are spread over 40 acres of land in Salafi complex in Meppayur town and Salafi campus, Kuluppa in Thurayur Panchayath. The Association is following the ideals of the founder President and General Secretary.
